ex Western Maryland 2 bay "channel side" hoppers
KGA: This is not correct for the 7200-7270 series cars- per email from Steve Mumley to Scott Whitney (24-Sep-2019)
OK, did a little digging thru my equipment registers. The cars were ex NH 116000 to 116249 and in 1956 all 249 were on the roster. They were off the roster by 1965 and the B&M shows 65 cars in the 7200 to 7270 series. ... Back to the StJ cars. They carried revenue numbers but were never listed in the equipment register. They used them for ballast on line but I seem to remember they got them for Swanton lime at the time but ended up using MEC hoppers. ... Now we have to find a New Haven guy that might have information on those hoppers. Oh by the way two of the St J hoppers are still sitting in Whitefield NH. Left over from Forbes operation. Last item, my StJ&LC notes show that these cars were ex WM [see below] before going to the NH, so the built date of 1927 sounds right.KGA comment: From Peter Ness web site info, it appears these cars were purchased "new" by the NYNH&H RR
