GATC cars, built 1978.- Per Eric Neubauer - General American Car Production List - 4180 and 4566 c.f. (Dec. 2015 "Car of the month") data:
BM 5821-5829 to GACX 48570-48578 in 1990
Note this conflicts with ORER data, unless the B&M renumbered some cars in 5830-5849 to 5821-5829.- Per Eric Neubauer - A History of the General American Airslide and Other Covered Hopper Cars
B&M 5820-5829: Phase "HC"
B&M 5830-5849: ex- GACX 47744-47763, built 1- to 2-1977. transferred 1980. Phase "HC" (possibly some/all ex- Sucrest 50-71?)- Per B&M RR documents, Mike Clements Collection: Letter dated 05-Oct-1979 (from AG Dustin) (PDF page 26) - the B&M sub-leased these airslides from Revere Sugar.
[as the date of the letter doesn't match either number change in the ORER, I'm not sure which group of cars it applies to - the first 10, the later 20, or all 30]Second letter (dated 24-Jun-1980)(PDF pp 22-23) covers "Revere cars which have been or will be restencilled as the 5830 - 5849 series"
Given the different GATX lot numbers, etc. it is likely the ex-Revere Sugar cars are only the last 20 cars
Courtesy of B&M RR documents, Mike Clements Collection, we have quite a bit of data about the assignments for these cars.
