Per Jul-2022 roster, series 1000 - 1198 [I am guessing this is the proper web page for that series] had 13 remaining "COAL HOPPER" cars. Not registered in UMLER, restricted in interchange, "non-revenue equipment"

Paint Schemes

Initial

When transferred from the D&H, [from photos] it appears they were [mostly?] already painted black
Reporting marks were painted over and replaced.
On many cars, there is evidence of one (or more) types of COTS boxes, but the paint is so faded it is hard to tell what they were.
It is hard to read the small text on photos, but often the COTS boxes seem to not have the white border painted around them
Some cars still had visible ACI labels
On some cars the original D&H herald appears through the fading black paint.
Many cars don't seem to have AEI tags when they should. Were AEI tags applied to LEFT end of car? or is that a tack board?
