The STB (and ICC earlier) has records about car leases. For this car series, the following are available (copied from The STB web site)

• 8175 15-Sep-1975 - cars BM 9000-9099 - initial lease

  Of note to modelers, the following statement (p24):

  ... there will be plainly, permanently and conspicuously placed upon each side of each car a stencil marking indicating the Manufacturer as Owner, and Manufacturer further agrees that promptly upon payment for the cars by the bank as provided in article 6 hereof it will cause the railroad to place plainly, permanently and conspicuously placed upon each side of each such car in place of the aforesaid marking stencil markings bearing the following inscription in letters of not less than one inch in height:

  Shawmut Bank of Boston, N.A., Owner as Assignee of Southern Iron & Equipment Company, Division of U.S. Railway Mfg. Co., Manufacturer and Prior Owner"

As delivered

Orange sides/ends/ ?interior?. Black lettering.
Black "Minuteman" herald is JUST the "Statue" (Solid black), none of the older "surround"
"BOSTON and MAINE" spelled in one line on side

Ends: As-built, the ends had 2 vertical "straps", and each horizontal rib had a reinforcement plate about 2/3 the width of the end - see MM article, p32, for drawing

? era "rebuild"

All black, white lettering, no herald.
Note "weight" data (below reporting marks) sometimes painted on "sheet metal" (of car side), sometimes on side sill channel.
From some photos, it appears some/all *may* have been repainted with "normal" dimensional data at right end of side.

NOT all cars rebuilt.

Approx. same time ?? note sides/ends of car at corner had "cutouts" just below top rail (to attach covers/tarps to?) (see image below)
Some variations may exist (e.g. maybe sides cut out, but not ends?)

Ends: from photographic evidence, many (most? all?) cars had a single plate, also about 2/3 the width of the car, covering from the top rail to the lowest "rib", welded on.
Again, some variation may exist.
