The #75000-75749 series was part of a 1,000 car joint order from Pullman Standard with the Maine Central receiving 250 cars for their #8000-8249 series. These cars had the Pullman Standard vertical indentations above the stampings [ribs] in the apex of the ends, in contrast to the #74000 series which did not. Also different from the #74000s were the Youngstown doors installed on the #75000s. They [the cars] were 1,300 pounds heavier than the #74000s.The B&M leased these 750 cars for 15 years from the Equitable Life Insurance Co. upon acquisition in 1951. After expiration of the 1951 lease, the surviving cars were refurbished under another lease agreement with the US Railway Equipment Co. and renumbered into the #2000-2707 series. The paint and lettering scheme applied was more muted than that applied to the #1000 series of cars leased to [through?] USEX in 1961. In the early 1980s, the cars were retired.

Many models of PS-1s have been produced. Perhaps the best (HO) ones are the Kadee and Intermountain, both of which have produced B&M decorated cars, although I don't have details right now. Be careful (particularly) with the door sizes/types and the 6 indentations at the peak of the ends.
As Kadee releases the B&M cars in small batches, there may be others I don't show below
Scale Manufacturer Stock number Car number Paint scheme Notes HO Kadee 4802 75249 Boxcar Red Ends, Black Roof w/ MM 7' Youngstown door. Out-of-stock by Nov, 2001 HO Kadee 4807 75097 Boxcar Red Ends, Black Roof w/ MM 7' Youngstown door. Out-of-stock by Sep, 2003 HO Kadee 4816 75161 Boxcar Red Ends, Black Roof w/ MM 7' Youngstown door. Out-of-stock by Apr, 2008 HO Accurail 3447 75063 maroon w/ MM I would guess Kadee and Intermountain models are more detailed. Listed on their web site Dec 2020. HO Bachmann 2109 2109 Rebuild Body not very accurate (wrong end, still has roof walk and high "A" end ladders). Paint OK for rebuilt cars, missing some details. More modeling information can be found on James B. Van Bokkelen's web site:
B&M Roster Info
Details on this car seriesCon-Cor also has a 40' (I think) PS-1 model (look on their web site under "HO - kits") of unknown accuracy for the B&M (none are decorated for the B&M). Make sure you look at the "regular" door ones, not the "insulated - plug door" ones. Still available as of Dec-2020
Per B&MRRHS Modelers Notes #24 (Jan, 1992) Weaver had an O scale PS-1 available. Unknown accuracy for the B&M, unknown if any were painted for the B&M
